Joseph Banks and his party saw this species at: Bustard Bay, Australia (22 May - 24 May 1770) Endeavour River, Australia (17 June - 4 August 1770) This small deciduous tree is found in northern areas of Queensland growing on hillsides and mountain slopes. The conspicuous yellow flowers are followed by red bell-shaped seed pods. The Aborigines are reputed to have used the plant as a source of fibre.
